Exploring Life, Biological Molecules, the Earth

Workshop #1: February 12, 2022

Dr. Bruce Fouke (Geology) took us on an exploration of the Yellowstone National Park, including discussions on its water, organisms, and the Blackfoot tribe that cares for it.

Dr. Martin Gruebele
(Biophysics) introduced us to the sonification of science – what do basic biomolecules sound like?

The scientific portion was rounded out with a presentation on cell membranes and spike proteins by Emad Tajkhorshid (Theoretical and Computational Biology Group), and a discussion of photosynthesis led by Dr. Melih Sener (Physics).
