Workshops

The Joy of Regathering creative and scientific teams held four workshops over the spring semester to provide context and explore ideas for the final performance. Each workshop was split into two parts: the first few hours were dedicated to presentations on scientific concepts, and the rest was for theatrical exploration of those ideas. The theatrical explorations were led by the Creative Director and Theatre faculty member, Latrelle Bright. Workshop participants (a beautiful mix of U of I faculty, staff, students, and Champaign-Urbana community members) immersed themselves in scientific learning and play. As we built the Joy of Regathering, it became clear that we followed one rule – work hard, play harder.
